Can a Relationship Be Saved?
My Answer: As long as you have breathe sure. But different people need different supports, resources, time to develop into that person their spouse/significant other needs. Not everyone has the patience nor the insight to have a healthy functioning relationship but that doesn’t mean they can’t develop it.
A journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step. But the funny thing is the journey doesn’t stop even after you get there.
What I’m sharing is this...We must practice the skills of the lessons we learn along the way in a relationship or be predisposed to walking that 1000 mile journey again...until we understand that it’s not the destination, it’s the insight for a sustainable relationship that is discovered in the relationship’s process that is our key to our healthy functioning relationship.
That said, No two individuals are alike, therefore how you learn one person may not be exactly how you would learn another. Similarly how one person learns you may not be how another meshes with you. And that’s why we pursue education and training, to reduce the time it takes on the relationship journey’s learning curve with our partner of choice. Concurrently, we discover ourselves also as we discover our partner. There are no short cuts.
Bottom line to this question I believe is this...We have to do the work of relationship if we want the benefits of relationship. (Calvin)
